Glyndon Marie Dooley was born in Delcambre, Louisiana on March 9, 1935, to the late Wilbert Mike Dooley and Mae Armentor East, and graduated from Delcambre High School. She had the distinct honor of being the first Delcambre Shrimp Festival Queen, a role that brought her immense pride and joy. Recently, she was recognized once again at the Shrimp Festival Annual Pageant.
Many years ago, she worked at Abdalla's Department Store in New Iberia, where she was a friendly face and a pillar of support to both customers and coworkers. Glyndon also played softball in her younger years.
Glyndon was a devoted homemaker, pouring her love into every corner of her home. She found sheer joy in tidying up and tending to her yard. Her great sense of humor was infectious, lifting the spirits of those around her and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Mrs. Dooley is survived by her sons, Mitchell “Mickey” Viator (Lisa) of Mt. Juliet, TN, David Viator (Delisa) of Houma, LA, Kent Viator of New Iberia, LA, and Shane Viator (fiancée Melanie Hebert) of Batchelor, LA; sister, Cynthia Dooley; grandchildren, Brookney Viator, Biani Viator, Kenzi Viator, Jennifer Viator, Suzanne Viator, Blayze Viator, Carly Viator Courville, Konner Viator Stafford, Gunnar Viator, Jazz Viator, and Garrett Viator; 13 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law; Terri Viator; and the best friend and daughter she always wanted, Andrea Alleman Turner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by former husband, William "Wild Bill" Viator; and siblings, Kenny Boy Dooley, Terrell Dooley, Rodney Dooley, and Shelby Renard; and grandson, Dylan Viator.
Pallbearers will be Shane Viator, Blayze Viator, Garrett Viator, and Gunnar Viator.
