Delcambre – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Our Lake of the Lake Catholic Church, in Delcambre, for Marnell Saunier Fremin, 75, who passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025, at her residence in Coteau, surrounded by her husband and children, after a 16 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.
Rev. Buddy Breaux will officiate.
Visitation will be held Monday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, and will continue Tuesday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Monday, at Pellerin Funeral Home.
A native of Delcambre, Ms. Marnell was born on April 13, 1950, to the late Eunick and Lily Rogers Saunier, and was a 1968 graduate of Delcambre High School. She retired as the Chief Deputy for the Iberia Parish Assessors Office, after 30 plus years of service. Ms. Marnell enjoyed traveling with her husband, cooking, baking, and fishing. She always loved and looked forward to planning a yearly vacation with all her children and grandchildren to enjoy, together with her and her husband.
Ms. Marnell was most definitely the mother everyone wished they had and the grandmother to her special grandchildren that most could only dream of. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 47 years, Kenric “Mushy” Fremin of Coteau; son, Robert Landry, Jr. (Leah) of Delcambre; daughters, Kenzie Fremin (Damien) of Coteau, and Kalli Fremin (Dalen) of Coteau; grandchildren, Hagan Landry, Brennan Landry, Anna Kate Stelly, Sydney Stelly, Kaiden Burgess (Meghan), Kyler Burgess, Harli Viator, Knoxx Viator, and Finn Romero; sisters, Joyce Comeaux and Sandra Opfer; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Fremin, Margaret Saunier, Lois Saunier, Wallie Saunier, and Claudette Fremin; brother-in-law, Steven Fremin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Eunick Saunier, Jr., Clifford Saunier, and Patrick Saunier, Sr.
Pallbearers include Hagan Landry, Brennan Landry, Kaiden Burgess, Kyler Burgess, Dennis Saunier, and John Saunier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486 or MDAnderson.org/Gifts.
