Grace E. Soule

Grace Emma Mae (Seeley) Soule passed away July 11, 2024 at Westminster Village.
Grace was born August 8, 1922, to Mark Twain and Lucy H. (Thormahlen) Seeley in Lodi, OH. She graduated salutatorian of the Lodi H.S. class of 1940, earned a B.S. Business Administration from Kent State University, and commenced her secretarial career in Cleveland at McGeorge-Hargett.
On February 16, 1957, she wed John K. Soule at Church of the Covenant Presbyterian and welcomed their three daughters: Genet Capulet, Juliet Renee and Meredith Jean. GM transferred John to Indianapolis in 1968 where Grace continued her career, retiring from the Indianapolis International Airport Authority in 1985.
A lifetime of service to church and community exemplified Grace's life. Among her affiliations: Red Cross Volunteer (Cleveland); Catholic Social Services "Very Important Volunteer" and Hawthorne Community Center Board (Indianapolis); and the Paul Revere Chapter (NSDAR). She was a philanthropic supporter of St. Paul UCC (Parma, OH), St. Luke's UCC (Speedway, IN), IU Health BMH Cancer Center, Second Harvest Foodbank ECI, Wheeler Mission Ministries (Indianapolis) and The Salvation Army.
Grace and John enjoyed travel, esp. Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises, trips to Europe and West Africa, and visits to Las Vegas where they were regular guests at Circus Circus.
Grace is survived by daughters Genet C. Soule, Juliet R. Costello (Gerard), Meredith J. Soule (Jeremy Schneider), four granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law LaVerne (Horn) Seeley. Her parents, husband and brother, William Allen Seeley, predeceased her.
A lifelong learner and volunteer, Grace donated her body to the IU School of Medicine Anatomical Education Program for the advancement of medical education.
Grace asked that she be remembered for her active life and living as a Christian.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, The Rev. Dr. Ronald Naylor officiating.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Grace and John's inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Park (North Olmsted, OH).
