Gerald, “Jerry” Stephen Shremshock, AIA, NCARB, of Westerville, Ohio passed away peacefully while at one of his favorite places in this world, his family vacation home at Harper Lake in Michigan on Friday, August 22, 2025. Jerry was born in Akron, Ohio on May 2, 1944, to the late George and Elizabeth (Tkac) Shremshock, the youngest of two children. Jerry graduated from Kenmore High School and later attended Kent State University. Jerry married Mary Lou (Sax) and together they were blessed with five sons. Jerry loved to be surrounded by friends and family and enjoyed sharing his blessings with boundless generosity and eternal optimism. He was a licensed architect, starting his own practice in 1976 which continues to this day. Jerry was a lifelong fisherman, gardener and collector of art who loved to share in these activities with others. He was passionate about his favorite charities, The Ohio State University Diabetes and Metabolism Research Center Fund and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Jerry was devout in his Catholic Faith and kept all the people in his life in his daily prayers. Jerry was a dedicated husband & soulmate for sixty years, father, grandfather and friend. Jerry is survived by his wife Mary Lou, his sons Scott (Gloria) Shremshock of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Timothy (Cindy) Shremshock of Westerville, Ohio, Patrick (Heather) Shremshock of Russellville, Alabama, Benjamin (Isabel) Shremshock of Westerville, Ohio and Joshua (Charmagne) Shremshock of Riegelwood, North Carolina; grandchildren Nathan, Jordan, Jessica, Duncan, Jacob, Noah and Elizabeth, many nieces and nephews whom Jerry loved like his own children, and countless friends. Jerry is also survived by his sister Patricia (David) Costello of Buffalo, Wyoming. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and by his grandson Colton.
