William Gregory "Greg" Watkins, 68, of Humansville, MO passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He was born on June 14, 1956, in California to Fred and Vina Watkins.
Greg moved to Missouri from California while he was in High School. He got married shortly after high school to his wife Betty (who passed away in 2009). They had two children together (Marriah and Lindsey) along with Jasson and Kristina who joined the family upon their marriage. Greg had a lifelong passion for being a father and grandfather.
He spent a few years in college at SMS (MSU) pursuing a degree in computer technology, which he enjoyed thoroughly. Greg spent much of his time being a truck driver, until recently when he became a proud driver of the Amish/Mennonite community. You could feel the love he had and felt from this outpouring community whenever he spoke about them to others.
Greg enjoyed playing sports and watching Kansas City Chiefs football. He was overjoyed to see them win back-to-back Super Bowls. His deep love for the Chiefs radiated when he spoke about them to others. It was even inherited by his oldest daughter. Greg also loved playing guitar in his band. He was a natural and outstanding musician and those that knew him knew his passion for music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Watkins; his stepdaughter, Kristina Watkins; his father, Fred Watkins; and his mother, Vina Watkins.
Greg is survived by his daughter, Marriah, her husband Zach and their children, Harper, Spencer and Tinsley; his daughter, Lindsey, her husband, Dakota and their child Braylea; and his stepson, Jasson and his son, Austin.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
