Gregory "Greg" Croll passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, in Ponte Vedra, Florida, at the age of 60. Born on June 13, 1964, in Los Gatos, California, Greg was a man of many talents, passions, and an unforgettable wit that brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Greg leaves behind his beloved daughter, Camille, his best friend and brother Cristian, his devoted mother, Lise Croll, as well as his nephew Jack and nieces Chloe and Claire. He cherished his family deeply and was a source of laughter, wisdom, and love.
Greg's academic journey began at UC Berkeley, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After graduating, he embarked on a successful career in finance, starting as a high-yield bond trader at ING in New York City. His work took him to Philadelphia, where he thrived at Deutsche Bank, and later to LA and then London. In 2018, Greg settled in Ponte Vedra, Florida, where he embraced a life of leisure, passion, and community.
Known for his warmhearted nature and quick wit, Greg had a magnetic personality. His humor and charm made him a cherished friend and companion to many. He was a true bon vivant, with a passion for gourmet cooking and an impeccable palate for fine wines. Whether preparing a feast for loved ones or savoring a new vintage, Greg lived life with gusto.
Greg was an adventurer at heart. He found joy in fly fishing, golf, hunting and deep-sea fishing, spending countless hours in nature's beauty. He was also a skilled poker and blackjack player, where his sharp mind and strategic brilliance shone. He loved dogs and tolerated cats.
A lifelong music enthusiast, Greg attended more than 200 Grateful Dead concerts, reveling in the community and spirit of their music. His love for music was a testament to his free-spirited soul and his appreciation for the joy of shared experiences.
Greg will be remembered as a man with an extraordinary sense of humor, a zest for life, and a heart full of love for family, friends, and adventure. His legacy lives on in the laughter, memories, and love of those who knew him.
