Gregory A. Daggett

Gregory A. Daggett, formerly of Stoughton, a cherished son, cousin, colleague, and friend, passed away from complications after an emergency surgery on January 22, 2024, at Falmouth Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Stoughton, MA, Gregory's presence in the world was a gift to those who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt by many.
Gregory was the beloved son of JoAnne Horigan (Tramentozzi) of Pocasset and the late John "Jack" Horigan. He was a cherished cousin to Kristina Vasconcelos of Bridgewater and Kelly Shaughnessy of Stoughton, and his departure leaves a void in the tight-knit fabric of his family. Greg's life was one of connection and community, and he is also survived by a close-knit family circle and a wealth of lifelong friends whose lives he touched with his humor and intelligence.
A proud graduate of Stoughton High School's Class of 2001, Greg's roots in his hometown ran deep. His commitment to his community was evident in his professional life. For the last eight years, Greg had been a dedicated member of the Town of Sharon Department of Public Works, working within the Tree Department. Prior to that, he lent his skills to Garage Maintenance for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). After his father's passing in 2022, Greg took up the mantle of his father's business, Mulch By the Yard, running it with the same dedication and work ethic until October of 2023.
Greg's love for sports was more than a pastime; it was a passion that connected him with others and brought joy to his life. An avid sports fan, he channeled his enthusiasm into active participation in the Mass Hockey League and the Chemung Hill Football League. His competitive spirit found a fun outlet in fantasy sports, where he was a well-known member of the Huddle Buddies Fantasy Football league. It was within these communities that Greg's funny and intelligent nature shone brightly, endearing him to teammates and opponents alike.
Beyond the field and the rink, Greg was a talented artist whose creativity found expression in landscape art. His skillful hand painted New England Patriots decals in customers' yards, and he took pride in crafting the yard markers and high school emblems on the Sharon High School Fields. His artistic contributions to the community will serve as lasting reminders of his talent and his love for the local sports teams.
Greg's life was one of active engagement, creativity, and warmth. His sense of humor and sharp intellect made every encounter with him memorable and enjoyable. He had the rare ability to light up a room and make people feel at ease, traits that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we celebrate the life of Gregory A. Daggett, we fondly remember a man who was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and dedication to his family will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. May he rest in sweet peace.
