Gregory Nicholas Egan

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Gregory Nicholas Egan announce his passing on January 20, 2026. Greg was a lifelong resident of Tarrytown, NY. He was born on December 9, 1947, the son of Lawrence Dick Sr. and Mary Egan Dick, both who have pre deceased him.

Greg leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Janet Morabito Egan; his two children, Gregory John Egan (Brittney) and Jillian Egan Fosse (Paul). Greg was the loving grandfather to Gregory, Anthony, James, Joseph, Quinn, and Scarlett. They loved him dearly.

Greg, leaves brother Larry (Fran), sister Mare (Wes), and pre deceased brother, Jimmy. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends will miss him, as well.

Greg was a construction project manager who took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career. Beyond his profession, his true passion was giving back. Greg's skating skills and fierce warrior instincts lead him to the Archbishop Stepinac Hockey program. Where for 14 years he was the head coach and program director. He will always be remembered for his epic locker room pep talks, but most importantly leading Stepinac to their first ever Catholic League "A" Championship title. He was one of the founding fathers of TNT baseball and for 16 years spent his Saturday mornings teaching Pee Wee Baseball. We can still remember his chant at the end of every practice, "1, 2, 3 go you Pee Wee's!". And lastly he started a girls travel softball team where you could find him out in the field demonstrating how to catch fly balls in his glove that he called, "The Well". He lovingly coined that team, The Lady Bombers. Greg not only taught the game, but the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. He devoted much of his life to helping young men and women by coaching youth sports, leaving a lasting impact on countless athletes. He proudly wore his "Coach" title like a badge of honor. In fact many in the community still call him and think of him as Coach Egan.

Greg will be remembered for his strength, smile, the nicknames he gave to everyone, and his uncanny resemblance to Clint Eastwood. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
