ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – Gregory Scott Ehlers, age 64, of Zionsville, Indiana, died Monday, July 7, 2025, at home.
Born August 22, 1960, in Canton, Ohio, to Donald E. and Nancy Lee Speicher Ehlers, Greg's family moved to Carmel, Indiana, where he graduated from high school. He received a bachelor's in business from Indiana University and a degree in Nursing from IU East. Greg worked in Healthcare Management and Health Information Management. He and Jennifer moved to Richmond in 1987, spending the majority of their careers at Reid Health. They recently moved to Zionsville to be closer to children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were precious to him, and he loved playing cars and baby dolls with them. Greg enjoyed football, especially the Cleveland Browns, Indiana University basketball, and playing online poker.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer J. Richardson Ehlers, to whom he was married on December 15, 1984; children, William (Mandy) Ehlers and Emily (Jon) Junger; grandchildren, Winston and Penelope Ehlers and Leo and Evan Junger; brothers, Joel (Marcie) Ehlers and Eric (Tanya) Ehlers; uncles, Jeff (Fernando Montenegro Torres), Bruce (Nancy), and Doug Speicher; nieces and nephews, Olivia, Andrew, Matthew, James, Erica, and Jonathan; cousins, including Kara (Michael) Johansen, Ellen Speicher, Diane (Bill) Anderson, Eric (Lisa) Burkhardt, and Bruce Burkhardt; and a host of extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt, Bonnie (Neal) Surbey.
Visitation for Greg Ehlers will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Sr. Pastor Todd Payton officiating.
