Gregory Lamar Harless, age 65, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on January 11, 2024. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, 10AM, at Circlewood Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11AM, at Circlewood Baptist Church with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating. Graveside interment services will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, C. Victor Harless, Jr., his mother, Essie T. Harless, his sister, Pamela Harless Hammond, and his grandparents, C. Victor Harless, Sr., and Della Tillery Harless, John Henry Toler and Lugenia King Toler.
Survivors include his sister, Vicki Harless Morton (Jimmy), his brother Barry L. Harless (Susan), his brother in-law George "Tony" Hammond, his aunt, Dessie "Tiny" Toler Smedley, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Greg was a son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He will be remembered as a jokester, prankster, and just all around funny and entertaining guy. He could do great Gilligan and Sherlock Holmes impressions. There was never a dull moment with Greg. He loved to play cards, backgammon, and checkers (he would wear you out he was so good). He loved his books, movies, and his MUSIC! He was a huge fan of all things Elvis Presley! He will forever be remembered when any Elvis Presley song is heard.all one can imagine is him breaking into song and dance while snapping his fingers. The only thing that could compete with his love for Elvis was his love for Alabama football! He looked forward to Saturdays to watch the game, wear his Alabama shirt, and cheer Roll Tide! Greg could also be a handful and try the patience of Job (as he was an expert at making multiple phone calls to all without hesitation). Yet he was a kind soul, respectful, very humble and had a good heart. He cared about his friends and family... always asking how they were and telling all how much he loved them. Greg loved the Lord. He loved to read his Bible, do his daily devotion, and attend church. Greg would pray and his prayers could bring tears to your eyes. Greg started each day as a new day, and we all shared each day with him "One Day at a Time". He now has eternal days in heaven praising God, healed from all afflictions, and reunited with so many he missed who went before him.
