Gregory L. Hurlbutt

Gregory Hurlbutt, 73, of Edmeston, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 8, 2024 at Albany Medical Center. Gregory was born on November 7,, 1950 in South Edmeston; a son of the late Fredrick and Mary (Burch) Hurlbutt. In 1970, Gregory married the love of his life, Blanche Wakefield in South Edmeston.
Gregory was employed by Remington Arms and eventually started his own landscaping business which he named Hurlbutt's Landscaping. He was a very particular handyman who was always willing to lend a hand to everyone who asked. He had a special interest in Fox News and all things politics. Gregory was very family orientated and a loving uncle to all the kids. He will be remembered as a jokester that always had a kind word to say.
Gregory is survived by his loving wife, Blanche; brother, Rodney Hurlbutt; brother, William Hurlbutt; sister, Nancy Gennosa; sister-in-law, Stacey Hurlbutt; grandchildren, Braedyn and Rachael; many nieces, nephews, cousins and sister and brothers-in-laws. He is predeceased by his sons, Richard and Josh Hurlbutt; brothers-in-law, Joseph Gennosa, Gary Griffiths, Russel Evans, James Boss, Ted Stockton and sister-in-law Peggy Wakefield.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 6:00 – 9:00PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Burlington Flats Baptist Church, 101 Arnold Rd, Burlington Flats, NY 13315. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:00AM at Burlington Flats Baptist Church with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be in the Spring at Galazy Cemetery, South Edmestion with Military Honors.
