Gregory C. Resch, 68, of Hazlet, died on Sunday, Oct. 27th at his home. Born in the Bronx, Greg was a resident of Hazlet since childhood. He was a graduate of Raritan High School, Monmouth University and Rutgers University. He worked as a Finance Director for Nomura Securities in New York City before his retirement.
Greg was devoted to his family and friends. Lovingly nicknamed "The Professor," he was knowledgeable about a wide variety of subjects, especially Ford cars and trucks. Greg was always mechanically inclined and enjoyed helping people with automotive, home and technology projects. He loved dogs and became a cat lover later in life when his family adopted a cat. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.
Greg was predeceased by his parents, Joan and Alphonse. Surviving Greg are his brother, Edward, and his wife, June; his niece, Jennifer, and her husband, Brian; his nephew, Alexander, and his fiancée, Meg; and his great-nephew, James.
Visitation is on Friday, Nov. 1st, 4 to 7 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, Nov. 4th, 10 am at St. Benedict's RC Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association in Greg's memory.
