It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gregory Scotese, who left us peacefully in his home at the age of 67 on March 7th, 2024. A man of few words but when he had something to say it almost never failed to make you laugh. lover of all things with a motor, wheels, or a propellor, Greg enjoyed nothing more than a ride in his Lincoln or a cruise in his boat along the Jersey shore. As the warmer weather starts to roll in, this would be around the time you'd see him outside washing his fleet of cars or find him having a Coors Light in his garage. Although he seemed like a rugged man, you could oftentimes catch him watching The Honeymooners and feeding his two cats, Remy and Sambuca, their late-night treats. Owner and operator of Assured Air for over 40 years, Greg worked tirelessly to make sure his customers, family, and friends were always taken care of, especially when their air conditioning broke in the middle of summer.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Gloria and Sam Scotese, and his brother, Steven Scotese. Greg is survived by forever his wife, Barbara Corbo-Scotese; his sister, Cindy Byrne; his nieces, Jackie, Samantha, and Aimee; and his nephew, Steven Christopher. Greg will be dearly missed by all, especially his closest family and friends that knew him for his relentless work ethic, dry humor, and love of condiments, the heat (natural or thermostat-controlled), and, of course, his designated corner seat at the Elks Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home in Roseland, NJ on Sunday March 10, 2024 from 1PM - 4PM to honor Greg's life and legacy for all who wish to pay their respects. A Funeral Ceremony will be offered on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11 am in the mausoleum chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
