Marshall Gregory Whitaker, 78, of Louisville passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Born on July 23, 1947, he was the son of the late Holland and Martha Frances Hogue Whitaker.

Greg was a retired truck driver, a United States Army Veteran, and a dedicated follower of Christ. He spent much of his life around cars - racing and working on them and eventually ministering at the race track. He especially enjoyed playing cards with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his 2 daughters: Heather Metts and Brandi (John) Sanders, both of Louisville; 5 grandchildren: Grace (Blake) Kirk, Wyatt Metts, William Sanders, Hilari Sanders, and Weston Metts; 1 great-granddaughter, Scotti June Kirk; 4 brothers: Ronnie (Barbara) Whitaker, Leland (Pat) Whitaker, Allen Whitaker, and Paul (Lisa) Whitaker; sister-in-law Joan Whitaker; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Greg is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Nutgrass Whitaker; son, Russell Gay Whitaker; son-in-law, Kerry Metts; grandson, Waylon Metts; and brothers, Gerald Whitaker and Keith Whitaker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland, KY from 9:30-11:00 AM with funeral service following at 11 AM. Bro. John Wayne Toombs will officiate. Burial will follow in Hustonville Cemetery.
