Greta Loraine Todd

Greta Loraine (Taylor) Todd passed away on November 10th, 2022, at Flagler Hospital. She was born on January 22nd, 1929, to parents Mark Norman Taylor and Annie Lulu (Johnson) Taylor.
She graduated from Memphis Technical High School in June 1947. She was accepted to the University of Tennessee School of Nursing in 1948. Greta married J.W. Todd on March 11th, 1950. She received a Nursing Degree from the University of Tennessee of Nursing on April 6th, 1952.
She worked at the John Gaston Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee until she moved to Halls, Tennessee where her husband set up his first dental practice. They moved to Palatka Florida in 1954 where a dentist was needed. She spent her years in Palatka raising her children.
When her husband passed away in 1980, she returned to Memphis Tennessee to practice nursing. She worked at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis Tennessee for 13 years. She retired in 1993 and moved to St Augustine Florida. She continued to work part time as a registered nurse at Bayview Nursing Home and the Ponce Nursing Home until her 85th birthday.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Doctor J.W. Todd, her sister Natalie Walton, Her sons-in-law Mike Johnston, William Staples, granddaughter Michelle Glisson Gunter and great granddaughter Lillian McClellan.
Greta is survived by four daughters Henrietta Staples, Harriette McClellan (Robert), Greta Anne Kanouse (Tim), and Mary Johnston, Thirteen grandchildren, Russ Annis (Kim), Jennifer Mishoe, Todd McClellan, Ted McClellan, Lorraine Aston, (Eric), Mark Annis (Kara), Catherine Russell (Will), Heron McClellan, Clayton Johnston (Corry), Jordan Johnston, Rob McClellan (Hilary), Matthew Kanouse (Tracy), Aaron Kanouse (Lindy), and thirty-two great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Crescent Beach Baptist Church Saturday November 19th at 2 pm.
