Griffin James Thomas Banter, 31, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born on February 12, 1994 in Muncie to Robert "Bob" John Banter and Teresa Lynn (Willmann) Banter.
He graduated from Blackford High School in 2012
Griffin loved to go on adventures and being out and about. He also loved all kinds of music, especially Liberace. He was awarded the Hillcroft 2022 Majestic Musician Award.
He will be sadly missed by his parents, Robert "Bob" John Banter and Teresa Lynn Banter of Hartford City; brother and sister-in-law,, Grant R. & Kalan Banter of Muncie, nephews, Cayden Lannom and Brooks Banter; grandma, Peggy A. Willmann of Hartford City; aunts and uncles, Tracey & Geoff Witt, Teri & Rick Charnley, Charlene & Steve Maddox and Keith Harvill; several great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and second cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas R. Willmann, Barbara A. & John W. Hardwick, James r. & Dollie M. Banter and aunt, Tina Nash.
Visitation will be from 4 PM – 7 PM Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City.
There will be no services and Griffin will be cremated. A private family interment of cremains will be at later date at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hillcroft Services, 501 West Air Park Drive, Muncie, IN 47303
