Guadalupe A. Fabela

Guadalupe Acosta Fabela, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Growing up in the Rio Grande Valley, she learned resilience and perseverance early in life, working in cotton fields across Texas. It was there she met the love of her life, Santos Fabela Jr. Together, they built a life grounded in hard work, sacrifice, and an unshakable commitment to one another. Her home - especially the family house on Pharis Street - was the center of every celebration, from holidays to milestones, and even quiet everyday moments that became cherished memories. She welcomed everyone with warmth and generosity, making sure no one ever left hungry.

Guadalupe's life was one of service and devotion. She was an active member of St. Gabriel's Church, a proud Guadalupana, PTA volunteer, and community helper during election seasons. She skillfully helped run her husband's business, Fabela Sewer Service, while also being the glue that held the family together.

Guadalupe and Santos Fabela welcomed a large, loving family: Santos III, Yolanda, Leticia, Javier, Esperanza, Alejandro, Viviana, and Elizabeth. Though they endured the loss of three children, their faith and unity carried them forward. They created a home filled with love, prayer, and countless cherished memories.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Santos Fabela Jr.; three children including Viviana; her parents, Felix Coronado and Simona Gonzalez; and several siblings. She is survived by her children Santos III, Yolanda, Leticia, Javier, Esperanza, Alejandro, and Elizabeth; 25 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her gentle spirit, deep faith, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, a lasting reminder that family is life's greatest blessing.

Visitation will be held at Castle Ridge Mortuary, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate her life. She will be laid to rest in Sabinal, Texas, returning to the peaceful town that held a special place in her heart.
