Guy S. Masone, 80, of S. Mill Street, died Sunday, June 29, 2025, at his residence in New Castle, PA. He was born on April 6, 1945, in New Castle, the son of the late Victor ‘Mose’ and Eleanor (Coppola) Masone. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Lucy Church. Mr. Masone retired from Rich & Freed Auto Parts after 25 years as a parts manager, and then was a manager for Albert Gabriel & Sons Scrap Yard for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, Harness racing, riding his motorcycle, visiting Canda, and going to flea markets. He was everyone’s handyman, but above all, he loved being Papa Guy and was very proud of his grandchildren.
He is survived by one daughter, Rochelle M. Shaftic and her husband Jeff of New Castle, one stepson, Anthony ‘Tony’ Palladino, Jr., and his companion Lynn of New Castle, two grandchildren, Paige Shaftic and Jeffrey Michael Shaftic, one brother, Victor Masone, Jr., of Edinboro, PA, and one sister, Mary Ellen McConkey, of Cincinnati, OH.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former spouse, Rosemarie (Spinelli) LaMont.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 3 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral Litegury Outside of Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Deacon John Carran will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
