H. Harvey was born March 16, 1941 to the late Herman Harvey Dewing Sr. and Sarah Louise (Macey) Dewing.
In addition to his parents, H. Harvey was also preceded in death by one daughter, Karina Dewing and one sister, Leona Bauer.
H. Harvey graduated from the Missouri School of Mines in 1961 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He then received his master's degree in chemical engineering from UMR. He retired from the Bureau of Mines in Rolla after 30 years of government employment in different locations.
H. Harvey enjoyed golfing and gardening. He was an avid reader and enjoyed mathematics. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
H. Harvey will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his wife,
Cheryl Dewing of Rolla, MO; one daughter, Miriam Brawley and husband, Jason of Salem, MO; one stepdaughter, Valerie Pizzo and husband, Joe of Catawissa, MO; one stepson, Charles Newbern and wife, Olivia of California; five grandchildren, Wyatt, Tamsin, James, Jordyn and Lilly Mae; and one niece, Carmaleen Maygar.
A funeral service for H. Harvey Dewing will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow at the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital in Memphis, TN.
