Hailey Baxter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel - Grand Ledge on Oct. 25, 2023.
Hailey Rae Baxter went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the young age of 26.
Hailey was born on November 1, 1996 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Steven and Kristin (Bofysil) Baxter.
Hailey lived in Grand Ledge her whole life and grew up playing soccer and volleyball. She worked hard, through everything thrown at her including a torn ACL, gaining a full sports scholarship and graduating from LCC and then Ferris State University in 2019. Hailey was a beloved aunt to her two nephews, always showing up for soccer and t-ball games. She was a beach bum from the time she was born, spending time in Ft. Myers with family every year, along with more Disney trips than anyone can imagine. Hailey comes from a large family, and the best of times were spent at family gatherings with all her cousins, at grandma's house. Hailey will always be her daddy's little girl and her mom's best friend. She loved the sand dunes and Silver Lake will always hold a special place in everyone's heart. She enjoyed being on the water, especially Papa's boat, and spending time with her beloved animals. Hailey grew up camping with her family and continued to love the outdoors. She was always willing to lend a hand to help others, especially youth in need. Her smile and heart will never be forgotten.
Hailey is survived by her parents, Steven and Kristin Baxter, grandmothers, Harriet Baxter and Colleen Bofysil, and her two older brothers, Jordan Baxter and Cody (Christine) Baxter. Hailey also has a chosen sister, Kelsey Moyer.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Vaughn Baxter and Gary Bofysil.
A visitation will be held October 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with a service to follow at 12:00 PM, at the Mills Funeral Home, Peters and Murray Chapel, 301 E. Jefferson St., Grand Ledge. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to be put towards a memorial in Hailey's honor. Contributions can be made to directly to the family (C/O Cody Baxter).
