Hailie Jean Frandrup, age 19, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at her home. Hailie was born September 24, 2005, to Kim Hammett and Cory Frandrup at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota. From the moment she was born, Hailie had medical complications that would result in multiple surgeries throughout her life. Her mother, Kim, was told early on how difficult Hailie’s quality of life would be and she should not expect many accomplishments; one being graduating high school. But they didn’t take into consideration how unbelievably strong, stubborn, and resilient Hailie could be. She never let her medical history stop her from living her best life to the absolute fullest. Hailie attended multiple Saints games and even had the opportunity to go on a boat for her prom! She proved all her skeptics wrong when she graduated from Harding High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota as class of 2024. Hailie continued on to a transitioning school after high school. She enjoyed all the adventures the school provided with various field trips. Hailie’s kindness was awarded by the school early this year for being a peer guide to a new student and was given the title of “student of the month”.
Hailie had a contagious laugh and a smile that could light up a room. She was such a beautiful, sassy, intelligent, and funny young lady. Hailie’s love for food was one to admire. Her favorite meals were prepared by her stepdad, Darian Turner to whom she will always be known as an “honorary Turner”. She was the best big sister to her brother, Damian Turner and sister, Freya Turner. Hailie loved to listen to music and have dance parties with her siblings and her papa, Juan Ortiz. She enjoyed it when her uncle, Kyle Hammett; cousins, Abby, Emily, Zachary and Elijah would visit.
Hailie will be dearly missed by everyone that was lucky enough to know her. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Ellen Ortiz; grandfather; Gene Frandrup and uncle, Chris Hammett.
Services are pending with Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin.
