Hannah Marie Bowes, 29, of Boston, MA
It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Hannah Marie Bowes, a beloved daughter, sister, partner, and friend, who left us far too soon at the young age of 29.
Hannah graduated from Groton-Dunstable Regional School District in 2014. After high school, she explored several academic paths before discovering her true calling in nursing. With a deep sense of compassion and dedication to caregiving, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and began working in a nursing home, where she provided exceptional care to the geriatric population. Her patients were never just patients, they were treated like family.
While working as an LPN, Hannah continued to advance her nursing education and enrolled at Labouré College. Balancing work and study with grace and determination, she earned her nursing degree in 2021. Shortly after graduating, she passed her NCLEX exam and began working as a nurse for the state of Massachusetts, providing vital care as a COVID-19 nurse during a critical time. Her warmth, competence, and tireless dedication led her to be offered a position as a school nurse in the Weston School District, where she was deeply appreciated and loved by staff and students alike.
Hannah absolutely adored her job as an elementary school nurse. She was known not only for her clinical expertise but also for the extraordinary care and compassion she provided. She made all of her 'kids' feel totally taken care of and completely loved. Her calm presence, listening ear, and heartfelt dedication made her a trusted and comforting figure in the school community.
More than her profession, Hannah will be remembered for her thoughtful soul, boundless kindness, and free-spirited heart. She had a rare ability to bring joy to those around her, whether through spontaneous laughter, heartfelt conversations, or her playful, lighthearted energy. She was always goofing around and finding silly ways to make others smile. She was the kind of person who did cartwheels barefoot in the grass, laughed as loud as she could, and found beauty and humor in even the smallest moments of life.
Hannah found pure joy in the companionship of her adored Maltese, Casper, her "baby boy," who was always by her side and brought light into her everyday life. She also enjoyed traveling, recently having spent time exploring Italy and Switzerland with Moe. In the summer, you could find Hannah relaxing on Ogunquit Beach, surrounded by lifelong friends.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Carol Bowes; her loving sister, Brittany Bowes; and her cherished partner, Moe El Khatib. She was predeceased by her father, James J. Bowes, whose memory remained close to her heart. She also leaves behind her half-sister, Monique Wiitala, and was predeceased by her half-brother, Lee Wiitala. In addition, she leaves behind multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends, as well as a wide circle of extended family and chosen loved ones whose lives were deeply touched by her warmth and kindness.
Hannah's gentle spirit and joyful energy leave behind a legacy of love, compassion, and authenticity. She made the world a softer, more beautiful place, and her absence will echo profoundly across the very fabric of existence for all fortunate enough to have known her light.
