Dayton, NV – On October 3, 2024, Hans Bienek, 83, passed away peacefully at home. He was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Bienek and is survived by his son, Stephen Bienek, Matthew Holt (Stephen's partner), as well as his daughter Annette Simon.
Hans Dieter Bienek was born on February 2, 1941, in Berlin, Germany. Upon arrival to the United States, Hans decided to enlist in the military as he was offered U.S. Citizenship. Hans was discharged honorably and was part of the 82nd airborne in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
Hans was a long-time resident of the Monterey Peninsula in California, where he decided to start a family and his own consumer electronics store which he ran for over 35 years. Later in life Hans decided to retire and in their golden years they moved up to Washoe county to live with their son.
An avid photographer and camper he loved taking day trips up to Lake Tahoe with the family and was seen with camera or iPhone in hand taking beautiful photos of the Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe Region.
At this time, the family will have a celebration of Hans' life next year, and close family members will be notified over the exact details.
