Hans Schages

Hans Helmuth Schages Hans Helmuth Schages, 64, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013. He was born in Krefeld, Germany, on September 12, 1948, the son of the late Hans Schages and Hanny Louise Cuypers Schages. Hans was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and was a Service Technician with Innovative Refrigeration with 15 years of service. He was a Navy veteran with six years of service. Hans loved his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, motorcycle rallys and camping in the RV. With his wife, Ann, he enjoyed watching and rooting for the Redskins on TV. Hans is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Ann Fauber Schages; Hans was her best friend, companion and much loved; his three children, Kelly Denise Schages and Eddie Grant Schages both of Lynchburg, and James "Jeff" Fauber Simms of Charlottesville; his four grandchildren to whom he was known as "Opa," Brianna Nicole Schages, Andrew Lowell Gregory Schages, McKaylan Brooke Schages, and Sarah Simms; his three sisters, Margret Lucas and her husband, Michael, of Waynesboro, Christa Ann Cale and her husband, Mark, of Waynesboro, and Joan Coffey and her husband, Pat, of Stuarts Draft; his brother, Peter Schages and his wife, Georgie of Stuarts Draft; numerous nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Robert and Sandy and Missy and Victor. A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 961 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville, followed at 7 p.m. by a Service of Remembrance conducted by Pastor Derry Norman.
