Born November 4, 1977, in Wadsworth, Ohio he was the son of Holly Hawley Curtis and the late Thomas Wayne Curtis. A 1997 graduate from Jewett-Scio High School and Harrison Career Center, Jake continued his studies in diesel mechanics at Nashville Auto Diesel College where he graduated with honors. Jake was a jack of all trades and had worked for Smith Evergreen Nursery. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting ginseng.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife Susan Cross Curtis, whom he married on July 7, 2007; children Talena, Trenton, and Trace Curtis; newborn granddaughter Meraleona Sage Kiser and a sister Sonya Lea (Brian) Blythin.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 6-8 pm in Koch Funeral Home, 101 W Main St, Scio. www.kochfuneral.com
