Harold "Andy" L. Anderson, born May 21, 1927, in Kankakee, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 75 years, Edith (Gorenz) Anderson of Peoria, Illinois. The couple were married in Peoria on October 7, 1950.

Andy attended the University of Illinois and graduated from Bradley University, where he was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the LST 46 and remained an active member of both the National and Illinois LST Associations. A dedicated member of the Creve Coeur Club and a longtime supporter of Bradley University, Andy generously sponsored a scholarship program for music students for many years. His commitment to education and the arts was a reflection of his deep values and love for his community.

Andy enjoyed a long and successful career as a stockbroker, retiring from Smith Barney in July 2000. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail, unwavering integrity and dedication to his clients. He and Edith shared a love of travel, spending many joyful years visiting their favorite destination-Maui, Hawaii. In retirement, Andy found great joy in building model ships, some of which are proudly displayed at the Wheels O' Time Museum in Dunlap.

He is survived by his wife Edith, age 98, and their three children: Christine (Randy) Dixon of Oakland, CA; Erik (Stacey) Anderson of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; and Carl (Jennifer) Anderson of Washington, IL. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love, integrity, and service.

Andy was preceded in death by his brothers Edward Anderson and Robert William Anderson, and his sisters Marra (Anderson) Hosier and Bernice (Anderson) Parker.

As a devoted member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Dunlap, Andy's life will be celebrated there in recognition of his enduring faith and meaningful legacy. Visitation will be held at Wright & Salmon Mortuary on Monday, September 1, 2025 between the hours of 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 12:00 PM with and additional visitation 30 minutes prior to mass. Father Patrick Henehan will officiate, and entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum.
