Harold Brangenberg Obituary
Jacksonville - Harold R. Brangenberg, 93, of Jacksonville and formerly of Pearl passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at Regency Care in Springfield. He was born October 10, 1928 near Kampsville the son of Joseph Robert and Otelia Goetz Brangenberg. He married Marjorie I. Lumley Pennock on November 19, 1955 in Kampsville and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2004. He later married Lois June Frields on September 16, 2006 in Jacksonville and she survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Debra (Jerry) Maul and one stepson, Greg Frields both of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Avery (Katie) Maul of Bluffs, Owen Maul of Jacksonville and Daette (Mark) Lambert of Homewood; five step-grandchildren, Robert "Bob" and Adrian Pennock and Nellie, Tracy and Andrew Frields; seven great-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Kenneth (surviving wife, Bonnie) and Ralph "Jerry" Brangenberg all of Kampsville; one sister, Evelyn of Florida, and one stepson, Arnold Pennock of Palmer.
Mr. Brangenberg was a 1945 graduate of Kampsville High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, working at the United Nations Command Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean Conflict. He owned a trucking business for 14 years, then went into farming near Pearl in 1962 until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren, gardening, and building birdhouses.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial at Green Pond Cemetery near Pearl. The family will meet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Green Pond Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
