Harold E. Gaunce of Bowling Green Kentucky passed away on Friday April 4, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1929, in Bourbon County, Kentucky, but lived in Carlisle and Cynthiana for most of his life. Harold was a kindhearted man and enjoyed helping others with his ability to tinker and fix things. He started out as a farmer helping his parents on their farm and continued this as a hobby for many years. He worked at Kawneer Company for over 30 years, in both Cynthiana and Carrollton, KY. He was a master at refinishing/repairing antique furniture and in his spare time enjoyed fishing and cheering for the U.K. basketball team.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Nancye Wade-Gaunce; daughter, Audrey Phelps; parents Lillian Sexton and Spencer Gaunce; and brother, Chester. His survivors include daughter Tracy Gaunce; son-in-law David Phelps; Grandchildren: Zack (Regan) Phelps and Jacob (Kathy) Phelps; Great-Granchildren: Hudson, Keaton, and Claire Phelps; and special family friend Darlene Simpson. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 at J.C. Kirby & Sons Lovers Lane Chapel, with burial to follow in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the funeral hour.
