Harold Edward Hall Sr., age 82, of Pride, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, while under the care of hospice in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born on March 11, 1942, to the late Sabrina and Frank Scott Hall of Georgetown, Kentucky, Harold lived a life defined by quiet strength, hard work, and unwavering kindness.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his guardians, Uncle MC Rutledge and Maddie Bell Rutledge; his brothers, Julian and Jerry Hall; and his sisters, Alice Miller & Ora Lee Blair Gentle; grandson Jared.
He is survived by his children, Harold Hall Jr. (Amy), Sherry Hall-Westerfield (Joey), and William Hall; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many extended family members and friends; and his loving companion dog, Sailor.
Harold studied Draft and Design at the University of Kentucky, where he honed skills that would guide him throughout his life and career. In his early years, he worked as an insurance salesman for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Harold later served as the district manager of The Brass A Saloon, where his leadership and charisma left a lasting impression on all who worked with him. He also owned and operated Mary Majors Restaurant in Kuttawa, Kentucky, for 10 years, creating a beloved community gathering place.
In addition, Harold worked as a farmer and carpenter for over 25 years in Pride, Kentucky. His dedication to his craft, his work ethic, and his connection to the land were hallmarks of his life and a source of pride for his family and friends. Harold served honorably in the Army National Guard.
Harold shared a deep love of music and was a talented harmonica player, often bringing joy to those around him with his performances. He was also a passionate sports fan, and his favorite team to watch was UK Basketball. Harold's enthusiasm for the Wildcats was infectious. Above all, Harold cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured by his family forever.
Funeral will be 12PM Saturday, January 4th, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, KY. Brother Mike Cowan will officiate. Visitation will be from 10AM until funeral time on Saturday, January 4th, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, KY. Burial will be in Pride Bordley Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or your local hospice.
