Harold "Perk" Perkins

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Harold "Perk" Perkins, a devoted husband, father, loving grandfather, and cherished member of the Lawrence Park community. Perk passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 90.
Perk will be remembered as a man deeply committed to his community and those he served. After serving in the U.S. Army, he devoted 50 years to the Lawrence Park Fire Department, where he dedicated himself to the safety and well-being of others, earning him the esteemed role of Fire Police Captain. His courage, integrity, and compassion touched countless lives and left an enduring impact on Lawrence Park.
In his personal life, Perk found joy and fascination in collecting coins, appreciating the rich history and craftsmanship behind each piece. He also built an impressive collection of fire, police, and ambulance department patches and memorabilia-a symbol of his admiration for the emergency services community and the values they represent. Above all, Perk was a family man who took great pride in caring for his loved ones. As a devoted husband to his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Ann Perkins, a supportive father, and a loving grandfather. He brought warmth, wisdom, and laughter to every gathering. His presence was a constant source of comfort and love, he made a lasting impact on their lives, leaving them with cherished memories.
Perk is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Ann; his sister, Shirley Root; his sons: Dr. Thomas (Teya) Perkins and Timothy Perkins; his grandchildren: Tyler (Jenna), Ashlyn, Carter, Leah, Parker, Liliana, Logan, Harlow, and Maisey Perkins; and his great-grandson, Darby Perkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Alice Perkins.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Perk's life at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 695 Smithson Ave. on Saturday, December 21st at 10 AM, with the Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery with military honors rendered by American Legion Carl Neff Post 571.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Mark the Evangelist Church or the Lawrence Park Fire Department in his memory. Perk's legacy as a hero, mentor, and man of service will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek.
