Harry L. Burdick, age 89, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Harry was born on August 24, 1935 in Peoria, IL to Leslie and Anna S. (Kellogg) Burdick. He married Audrey A. Allen in 1955 at the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Audrey; his daughters, Bonnie (Bruce) Rusk of Chillicothe, IL, Connie (Chris) D'Agnolo of Sugar Land, TX and Kathy (Steve) Hohenbery of Princeville, IL; his grandchildren, Josh (Amanda) Rodriguez, Jayme (Robyn) D'Agnolo, Chano (Megan) Rodriguez, Nicole (Jody) Martin, Trina Rodriguez, Kimberly (Mike) Madden, Dustin (Beth) Hohenbery, Shawn (Mariah) Hohenbery, Travis (Emily) Hohenbery and Janelle Hohenbery; and 18 great-grandchildren, Allyson, Drake, Abby, Audrina, Zachary, Hudson, Cooper, Griffin, Grayce, Hannah, Hayes, Lucy, Henry, Hadley, Leo, Elodie, Finley and Abigail. Also surviving are his brother, James (Susie) Burdick and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Virginia Burdick.
Harry worked for Caterpillar for over 35 years, when he retired. He was a member of the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church and, in his younger years, he enjoyed going dancing with Audrey on Saturday nights, bowling, playing shuffleboard and fishing. Harry also loved woodworking. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11am at Chillicothe First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 5pm to 7pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Rev. Ron Martz will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials in Harry's name may be made to the church.
