Harry Leroy Chamberlain

Harry Chamberlain, age 76, of Downingtown, Pa., passed away at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025.

Born on October 13th, 1949 in Hazleton, PA, he was the son of the late J. Harold Chamberlain and Helen Houghtaling.

Harry was an adoring husband to his wife, Cathie, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.

After retiring from a career in pharmaceuticals, Harry continued to find purpose and joy working at the Montgomery County Courthouse. He spent time with family and friends, reading, gardening, cards, cooking, and enjoying a cold beer. Friends and family will miss his warmth, generosity, and quick sense of humor.

He is survived his wife, Cathie Chamberlain of Downingtown; his children, Stacy (Zach Sheppard) of Norristown, PA and David (Jenn Bechtel) of Pottstown; his siblings Carol (Harold Heller) of Pottstown, Mary (Bernie) Bast of Drums, and Eileen Chamberlain of Roxborough; father-in-law, Rodney (Vickie Matt) Parkinson of Haines City, FL, and brother-in-law Mike (Erin) Parkinson of Sioux Falls, SD. Harry also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Alan Chamberlain; mother-in-law, Bonnie Fay and beloved canine companion, Buddy.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 9:45-10:45 a.m. followed by a time of sharing at 11:00 a.m. at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
