Harry P. Granville, 82, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA, died Friday, September 19, 2025 at Geisinger CMC, Scranton, PA, after an illness.
Born June 7, 1943 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Earl and Rosella Fortuner Granville.
Harry was a 1962 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and was a self- employed carpenter for most of his life. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a disabled veteran. Harry enjoyed fishing and spending time in the outdoors.
He is survived by two brothers: Paul Granville of Carbondale, PA, and Philip Granville of Richmondale, PA; seven sisters: Elizabeth Opalka of Carbondale, PA, Ann Barnowski of Forest City, PA, Rose Greene of Carbondale, PA, Mary Roche of Carbondale, PA, Beatrice Okrasinski of East Benton, PA, Cathy Ball of East Benton, PA, and Florence Palmiero of South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers: Claude, Joseph, Earl, Jr., James, and Alwin.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Mosley, senior priest. Military honors were accorded by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Simpson VFW Honor Guard.
Pallbearers: David Opalka, Greg Opalka, James Granville, Lucas Granville, Jeff Weckel, James Granville and Christopher Granville.
A viewing was held Friday, September 26, 2025 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the church.
