Harry A. Grossman, 81, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at MidState Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He had been the devoted husband of the late Karen R. (Kaufman) Grossman for nearly 58 years.
Harry was born on June 17, 1942 in Chicago, IL to the late Jack and Bernice (Potnick) Grossman and had been a Plantsville resident for over 18 years.
Harry worked in the family restaurant business alongside his wife Karen for many years. He loved photography and was an avid fan of the New York Islanders, Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Most of all, Harry was dedicated to his family. He was a loving husband and father and the proudest grandpa who never missed a school or sporting event.
Harry is survived by 3 children, Traci Selinske and husband Scott of Plantsville, Suzanne Shamleffer and husband Mark of Southington, and Brian Grossman and wife Lynne of Milford, MA and 6 grandchildren; Mallie, Casey, Ty and Sarah Selinske and Chayse and Teague Shamleffer. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sandra Grossman of San Diego, CA, many nephews and his dear friends, Stan and Eileen Paulauskas of Beacon Falls and Frank and Rose Pepe of Plantsville. In addition to his wife Karen, Harry was predeceased by his brother, Melvin Grossman and sister, Roberta Geyer.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.
