Harry Lewis Johnson, aged 75, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in
North Canton, OH. Born on September 21, 1950, in Waynesboro PA, Harry graduated from Waynesboro High School. He continued his educational pursuits and received a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from University of Dayton, and a Master of Business Administration from Kent State University. Harry worked most of his career designing boilers and power plant systems.
Harry had a love for his family and the outdoors. His greatest hobbies were attending and supporting his kids and grandkids sporting events, school programs and photography. He was always behind the lens documenting family gatherings, vacations and bronze historical plaques.
Harry was a dedicated member of the Hoover Masonic Lodge #770 and the Accepted Order of the Scottish Rite, recently receiving his 30-year pin. An Eagle Scout, Harry volunteered in many positions for local councils within Scouting America. However, his most beloved position was organizing camporees for the Buckeye Council.
Harry is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children Angela Oney and Charles (Kara) Johnson; his stepsiblings Wayne Poffenberger (Ginger), Pam (Walter) Rowland , and Diana Peslis; and his four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his Parents Anita and Charles Johnson; his stepmother Faye Johnson; and his son-in-law Larry Oney.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 12-1 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville. Masonic Services will immediately follow calling hours, and funeral services will then be conducted by Celebrant Kevin O'Brien. Final resting place is St. Jacob's Cemetery.
