Texas City, Texas, Harry's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, kindness, and generosity.
Harry was the beloved son of the late Jack Curtis Melton Sr. and Glenn Elizabeth Kraus Melton. He cherished the memories of his childhood alongside his brother, the late Jack Curtis Melton Jr. Harry's family tree branched out to include his adored wife, Brandie Melton, with whom he shared the joys and challenges of life. He was a proud father to Richard Melton and his wife Bonnie, David Melton and his wife Sandra, Tami Melton, and Travis Melton. His sister, Ellen Jackson, and her husband Bill, along with his sister-in-law Carol Ann Melton, brother-in-law Jeff Harvell and his wife Deb, and brother-in-law Raymond Harvell and his wife Alexandra, all held a special place in his heart.
Harry's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Pamela Martinez and her husband Johnathan, Matthew McDaniel and his wife Nikita Shah, Greyson Melton, Bailey McDaniel, Sarah Melton, and Jackson Melton. His life was further enriched by many loved nieces and nephews, extended family members, and those he chose as family.
A graduate of Dickinson High School in 1965, Harry was an enthusiastic basketball player during his high school years. His passion for teamwork and strategy on the court translated into a remarkable 42-year career as a project manager for the Fluor Corporation. Harry's expertise in pipe fitting and his hands-on approach were instrumental in building petrochemical plants around the world, with numerous stints in the Middle East.
Harry's interests extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid golfer, achieving the rare feat of a hole in one. His love for travel was only eclipsed by the joy he found in spending time with his family. Known for his practical and unpretentious nature, Harry was the epitome of amiability and grace. Even through his illness, he never complained, facing each day with quiet courage and a warm smile.
