Harry Scott White Jr.

Harry Scott White, Jr., 79, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away March 26, 2026, in Winchester Medical Center.

Harry was born on May 17, 1946, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Hazel Orndoff and Harry Scott White, Sr. He graduated from James Wood High School, Class of 1964.

Harry served in the United States Navy as a welder. When he turned to Winchester, he began working for D. A. Doyle Cabinet and Supply Company. He later founded White's Ornamental Iron Works and operated the business for over 50 years. He had a love of farming and eventually purchased the family farm and continued to raise cattle and crops until his death.

He was involved with the Farmers Livestock Exchange and the Southern States.

He is survived by a sister, Phoebe W. West, a stepdaughter, Lora Cole, step granddaughters, Emma Ryman and Justice Morris, and step great grandchildren, Aviana Ryman and Brady, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Green, Eleanore Kines, Ruth Darr, Alyce Michael, and Margaret (Peggy) Bradfield.

A celebration of Harry's life will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 1:30 PM.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00-1:30 PM.

Harry was an advocate of Habitat for Humanity and memorial gifts may be made in his memory to Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity, 443 Millwood Ave, Winchester, VA 22601.
