Mr. Harvey Albert Casper, Jr. of Dalton died on Thursday, February 20th, 2025, at 87 years old. Harvey maintained his wit, humor, charm, and wisdom until the end. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Casper Sr. and Alma Casper.
Harvey grew up in Dalton, Ga. As a young man, Harvey worked at his father’s tire store, Safety Tire Service, on Morris Street in Dalton. He attended Dalton High School, the University of Tennessee, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Harvey was introduced to the love of his life, Anne, at a Little Richard concert. From the moment they met, the two were devoted to one another exclusively. They were married at Dug Gap Baptist Church in 1963. After living in Atlanta and Nashville for a brief period, they made their home in Memphis, where their son Chip, their pride and joy, was born and raised. Upon retirement, Harvey and Anne returned to their hometown of Dalton.
Harvey had a successful career in the insurance industry and was a claims manager covering the entire Midwest. He also enjoyed fishing, especially on the Red River in Arkansas.
Left to carry on his legacy are his wife, Anne Babb Casper, his son, Harvey Casper III (aka "Chip") of McKinney, TX., and his granddaughter, Ana Casper Hayes, and her husband, John of Forney, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23rd at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home in Dalton, GA. The family will receive visitors from 2:30 until the service time at 3 p.m.
