Harvey R. Lewis Jr. affectionately known as "Brother" departed his life on January 23, 2020 at Envoy at the Village, Fork Union, VA. He was born on September 8, 1927 to the late Harvey Lewis Sr. and the late Kate Lewis of Columbia, VA. He received his education at Columbia School and Little Fork School. At an early age he joined Little Fork Baptist Church. He started work very young and became a self-employed and business owner of H.R. Lewis Logging.
Harvey Lewis Jr. married the late Carrie B. Lewis on August 20, 1965. Harvey loved to play the guitar and listen to the blues. He also loved farming, gardening and fishing. As he got older his daily routine was to visit the Columbia Corner Store and sit and talk to the community that passed through.
He leaves to cherish his memories are his children: Richard Lewis (Yvonne); Larry Lewis (Katrina), Andrew "Peewee" Jackson; Stepchildren: James Jackson Jr., David Jackson, Willie Jackson; Grandchildren: Jessica Lewis, Darren Lewis, Lamont Clark, Sherard Clark, Latonya Carrington, Janelle Carrington, Renita Carrington; Great-Grandchildren: Christopher Wimmer Jr., Jalen Wimmer, Kiviana Clark; Brother: James Lewis; Sister In-Laws: Ellen "Ann" Lewis, Maddie Lewis; Devoted Friend: Priscilla Cabell.
A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and so many friends.
Harvey Lewis Jr. is now enjoying the pleasures of Heaven with his parents, wife Carrie, daughter Valeria (Nudie), his siblings John, George, Warner "Doc", Joseph "Joe", Ethel, Minnie, Helen, Katherine "Mamie", Sally, and Josephine.
We thank God for the 92 years that Brother Harvey Lewis Jr. was with
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Pleasant View Baptist Church 155 Duncan Store Road Columbia, Virginia 23038.
