John attended Williamstown schools and graduated from the former Williamstown High School where he was a member of their football team. He attended Michigan State University. He was a decorated veteran serving in the Army as a private during the Vietnam War.
John had a distinguished career as a law enforcement officer in the state of California. John was a longtime body builder and often seen at local gyms. He also enjoyed attending athletic events at Williams College and was very proud of his 56' Chevy.
John leaves his nieces, Tamara Legacy Cleary, Raquel Legacy and Cousins Paul Mikaniewicz, Kathy Hynes Mikaniewicz and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary B. Lewis Legacy who died in 1996.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services with full military honors for John Lewis will be on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Eastlawn Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Memorial Donations may be made to the Williamstown Youth Center Donate 66 School St. Williamstown, Ma.
