Harvey Eugene Songer, a beloved husband, father, brother, and dedicated member of his community, passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 68. He was born on March 23, 1957, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He spent 50 years married to the love of his life, Debra Kay.
Harvey cultivated a legacy through his work as a farmer and a crop duster. He made a significant impact in the agriculture industry as the owner-operator of Kin-Co Ag Aviation, but his passion for flying extended beyond his profession. He enjoyed teaching his family to fly, including his sons-in-law Casey and Bob, and grandson Layne. Harvey's dedication to his work was rivaled only by his love for history, especially war history. In 2023, he traveled to the Beaches of Normandy to pay his respects to those who had given their lives. He always stressed to his family the importance of the sacrifices that our soldiers made for our country.
As an avid gun collector, Harvey loved shooting guns and hunting of all kinds. He found joy in playing the guitar and riding his motorcycle, cherishing these hobbies as a means of expressing his creativity and love for life. A devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Harvey's faith was central to his life and guided his actions. He was saved at the age of 45, and always let his family know that nothing was more important than knowing the Lord.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Songer; his daughters Bridgett Couch and Jennifer (Bob) Andrews; his brother Venson (Sharron) Songer; his sister Ivonne (Light) Roberts; and his cherished grandchildren, Bailey Andrews, Colton (Kaitlin) Couch, Kinzie Worlow, Layne Couch, and Luke Couch. He also leaves behind a great-granddaughter, Haven Andrews.
Harvey was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Songer; mother, Nellie Faye Songer; and son-in-law, Casey Couch.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, beginning at 1:00 PM, with public visitation at Heath Funeral Home on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Following the service, Harvey will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Cemetery
Harvey Eugene Songer will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his love for his community, his hardworking attitude, and his passion for life. His kindness and zest for living will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
