Heather Fountain was born in Detroit, Michigan and celebrated her 50th birthday last year. She made her home in Ypsilanti Township, where she created an amazing home with her creativity, visual excellence, and meaningful accents.
She was fancy, a fabulous dresser and always did the extra things to make parties and holidays amazing.
Heather graduated from Franklin High School and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan. She then went on to receive her Masters Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising at Wayne State University. She leaves behind her loving fiancé and soulmate, Carl (Hoss) Ostenson. She was the cherished daughter of Barry and Sharon Fountain, the loving sister of Holly, (Jon) Thompson and the fun and loving Auntie of Adeline and Everlee Thompson. She also leaves behind many special friends, neighbors, cousins and loving aunts and uncles.
After finishing her education, she began her career in the retail industry. She started working for corporate Target in 2017, making Target her forever job as a Visual Merchandising Director. Heather was a beautiful and accomplished dancer. It was her true passion. She was a performing member of the Jazz Dance Theater in Ann Arbor for many years. She also was a beloved dance teacher at several dance studios. Heather traveled endlessly for work which took her all over the world. Traveling was one of Heather's favorite life adventures. Her adventurous soul took her all over the globe, but her favorite trip was to Tanzania when Hoss proposed to her in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti. Heather adored her nieces, Addy and Evee. She loved making every holiday exciting and fun and created many special memories for them. Her love of family and traditions were so very important to her. The happy memories she shared with her cousins, friends, and neighbors were endless and cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July.
