Heather J. Lutze, 45, of Fond du Lac, WI, died Friday, January 24, 2025, at SSM Hospice Home of Hope, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Wausau, WI, on May 8, 1979, to James and Sharyn (Heili) Rogers. On October 15, 2005, Heather married Brian Lutze at Hope Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.

Heather graduated from Wausau East High School in 1997 and continued her education to obtain a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh in 2003. She spent much of her career working in logistics, most recently as a dispatcher at GFL Environmental in Omro, WI. She had a fond love for animals, particularly that of dogs (especially Cocker Spaniels), dolphins and rabbits. Heather loved the water and was an excellent swimmer, and part of the swim team in middle school and high school, and a member of the Wausau YMCA Green Dolphins Swim Team. She also played soccer for many years.

Heather loved doing things outdoors and developed a passion for camping and spending time with her family and friends. She loved baking and making meals for her family, as well as knitting and other crafts. Her greatest joy was bringing up her son, Collin, as well as her dog, Cooper.

Heather touched the lives of many people with kindness and generosity, often putting their needs above her own. She cared deeply about the people she loved and wanted the best for them. Heather is greatly missed by those who know and love her.

Surviving family members include her son, Collin; her husband, Brian; her mother, Sharyn Heili, and father, Jim Rogers (Terry Dahl); her twin sister, Sarah (Jesse) Daniels; her brother, Patrick (Jessee) Hills; her father and mother-in-law, Glenn and Ruth Lutze; sisters-in-law, Kristin (Steve) Hinze, Kim Floyd, and Kathy (Guy) Bodie; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Nettie Heili, and Frank and Dee Rogers; stepfather, Bruce Furrer; as well as her dear friends, Sally Connaher, and Marty Heidner.

Visitation for Heather will be held from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday, February 3, 2025, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street in Fond du Lac. Her memorial service will follow, beginning at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Phillip M. Enderle officiating. Cremation has taken place.

Heather’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh for their care of Heather during her battle with cancer. A special thank you also goes out to the nurses, staff, and volunteers at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac for the care, support, and comfort provided to Heather during her time in hospice. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to GFL Environmental and Tom’s Quality Millwork for the support they provided to Heather’s family during this difficult time.
