Hector Angel Saucedo, age 84, died peacefully on April 7, 2024 surrounded by his family. Son of the late Angelo Saucedo and Belen De la Torre Saucedo, Hector was born in El Paso, TX on September 1, 1939.
Hector was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. He was a devout Catholic, and especially in the last years of his life, his spiritual faith brought him peace and comfort.
Hector graduated from Cathedral High School and as a teenager began working at his fathers restaurant the iconic Coney Island in downtown El Paso. He continued to run the Coney after his dads passing and expanded the business to other locations in the El Paso area. Hector always attributed his strong work ethic to his dad, and his compassion and sense of humor to his mom. He will forever be known for making the best Coney Island hot dogs and tacos, and BBQ brisket.
Hector continued his passion for the restaurant business as a successful salesman. He had a strong customer base and took pride in building relationships and giving you the best deal. His favorite travels were to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and a momentous trip to the Holy Land.
He eventually returned to Texas, where he made his final home in Frisco with Lucy, his wife of 48 years. There, they welcomed their 3 grandchildren, Vivien, Christian and Sylvia, who will carry on Hectors legacy, including the endearing Saucedo dimples.
Hector loved cooking and finding the best grocery store deals. His quick wit and humor brought smiles to many and is how he will be fondly remembered.
In addition to his wife and grandchildren, Hector is survived by his children, Deborah Llewellyn (James), and Angelo (Megan). Also, his sisters Loretta Knight (Tim), Becki Sanchez (Danny), and Irma Saucedo, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by, and now reunited with his parents, brother Albert Saucedo, and sisters Evangeline Luceri, Carmen Job, Estela Gonzalez, and Herminia Lizarraga.
Celebration of Life services will be held for Hector on April 26, 2024 at 11:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Hector A. Saucedo to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (stfoafrisco.org), or EWTN (5817 Old Leeds Rd., Irondale, Alabama 35210) as both were close to Hectors heart.
