Heidi Beth Darling

Heidi Darling, mother to Amy and Jessica passed away suddenly on February 3rd, 2024.
Although her passing was unexpected, her final moments were spent peacefully in her home;
with the happiness from spending lots of time with family including her grandsons, Zachery,
Oliver and Watson, "her boys" (who meant the absolute world to her) in her heart.
Heidi is survived by her 2 "girls", Amy Darling and Jessica Rich, their respective husbands Gary
Hamm (whom she forged an instant bond with unlike any other) and Philip Rich (whom she's
known and been very close with almost his whole life), and her adored grandsons Zachery
Hamm, Oliver Rich and Watson Rich. Additionally, Heidi is also survived by her brother and
sister-in-law, Robert and Christa Hesselbach, as well as her nieces and nephews, Eric (Katie)
Hesselbach and Holly (Jonny) Raiola. Plus her grand nieces, Haylie, Hannah, and Harper
Raiola, who were graced by her love. The circle of those who held her dear stretches far and
wide. For all who knew Heidi, their adoration for her knew no bounds.
To not take a single moment to mention the love, pride and admiration Heidi had for her kind
hearted and caring "girls" would be doing a disservice to her. Her whole life revolved around her
daughters. The bond of the 3 of them was a remarkable thing to witness.
Known for her quirky, witty, generous and loving personality; Heidi was always able to find the
funny in any situation. Her unmatched humor and contagious laugh could bring bits of joy in
even the toughest situations. And her over 30 years of nursing experience showed she had a
heart of gold and let her put that wit to work helping others during difficult times. Her life long
dream to be the world's best grandma was achieved time and time again, just ask her "boys".
Heidi will be dearly missed by all who knew her. While there is sadness of her passing, Heidi's
family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life.
A wake will be held at Manchester Funeral Home, 142 East Center St, Manchester, CT, all who
loved her are welcome to pay their respects on February 8th between the hours of 4-6pm.
Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary.
