Helen Pauline Berthold

Helen Pauline Berthold, 96, of New Milford, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026. She is predeceased by her loving parents, Arno and Anna, her beloved fiancé Rad Beucler, her devoted siblings, Oscar (Jean), William (Gladys), Frances (Lee) Ayers, Louise (Edward) O'Brien, Arthur (Ruth), as well as, her cherished niece, Susan Robbins. She is survived by her dearest nieces and nephews Dennis Ayers, Patricia Klatt, Kathleen Bauman, Ted Ayers, Richard O'Brien, Carol Berthold, David Berthold, Arno Berthold, Carl Berthold, Laura Cornelison and Kevin O'Brien. She is also survived by Susan Wilson, Judy Schuster, and Willie Wilson and a host of great nieces and nephews. Helen also had a special friend and aide, Nelly Alcorta. Aunt Helen will be truly missed by her beloved family and friends.

Helen was born on May 6, 1929 in Guttenberg to Anna (née Holmes) and Arno Berthold. She was employed as a Secretary Bookkeeper for Bergenfield Press and Beldar Industrial Forms in Saddle Brook for many years prior to her retirement in 1991. Helen was also a long time member of Old North Reformed Church in Dumont. One of her favorite activities was being the greeter at the monthly thrift shoppe sales.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 3-7 PM, at Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont, NJ 07628. Service will be on Wednesday at 6:00 PM.

Morning prayers will begin at 10:15 AM on Thursday, February 19, at the funeral home.

Helen will be laid to rest at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack.
