Helen Evelyn Cushenbery

Goddard - Helen Evelyn Cushenbery, 95, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at her residence. She was born on April 17, 1929 in Lake City to Walter Scott and Fern Lea (Pearce) Moomau. Helen married Lindle Dean Cushenbery in 1947, they later divorced. She then met her companion, Robert "Bob" Holt.
Helen graduated from Lake City Intermediate School in 1947. She loved being a seamstress and made many of her family clothing pieces. She worked for Wal-Mart Shoe Department for 25 years before retiring. She thoroughly enjoyed dancing, especially 2-stepping with Bob.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Cushenbery of Newton, Steve Cushenbery of Cherryvale and Darrel (Jolene) Cushenbery of Goddard; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; previous husband, Lindle Dean Cushenbery; companion, Robert "Bob" Holt; sons, Jerry Cushenbery and Dennis Cushenbery; brother, Buster Moomau; sister, Icy Cary; and daughter in-law, Brenda Joyce Cushenbery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2024 at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge with Pastor Tom Walters presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
