Helen Judith (Batt) Feinberg January 5, 1946 – August 25, 2025
Helen Judith (Batt) Feinberg, 79, passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on August 25, 2025. Born on January 5, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was a graduate of Cheltenham High School, Temple University and Columbia University. Helen built a remarkable life rooted in love, curiosity, independence, and her signature no-nonsense approach. She raised her children in Bedford, New York, where she was instrumental in building the family business, Northwind Kennels. Later in life, Helen flourished as a clinical social worker dedicating herself to helping others. In retirement, Helen embraced Albuquerque with enthusiasm. She could often be found walking her beloved canine friend, Dustin, on the local acequia, enjoying lively games of canasta with her girlfriends, or standing up for women’s rights. Her adventurous heart carried her across the globe from Patagonia to Africa and nearly everywhere in between.
Helen is survived by her children Mindy and Larry, son-in-law Stefan; grandchildren Neale, Jonah, Boden, Kate, and Max; her brother Marc; and a large extended family who adored her. Helen instilled in her loved ones the principles of self-reliance, courage, and honesty which are gifts that will continue to shape their lives and choices.
If so moved, the family kindly asks that donations in Helen’s memory be directed either to support the New Mexico Philharmonic, an organization where she volunteered her time, or to further research in the fight against pancreatic cancer:
• New Mexico Philharmonic Annual Fund
• Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research
