Helen Lea (Ruth) Hicks, 55, passed away peacefully, in Duncan, on Monday, February 10, 2025. A memorial service will be held at Connection Church Duncan with Pastor Lynn Parkhurst officiating.
Helen was born on September 18, 1969 to Cleo Ervin and Glenda Kay (Rhone) Ruth. She grew up in the Duncan/Marlow area, where she attended school. Helen was never able to have children of her own so she filled that void by being an amazing auntie to all her nieces and nephews. She helped take care of each of them at different times and stages of their lives and shared a special bond with each of them.
Helen loved to camp and fish and enjoyed spending her summers at the lake. She also loved cooking for her family and spending time with them. She loved playing card games and doing work searches.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Hicks of Duncan; dad, Cleo Ruth of Tulsa, OK; sister, Trish Estes and husband Keith of Illinois; brother, Mel Ruth of Tulsa; Kay Ruth of Wagoner, OK; and an aunt, Jeanie Rhone. Other survivors include nieces: Heather Price and husband Tyler of Lawton, OK, Ashley Foster of Texas, Kendra Moore and husband Nick of Duncan, Tamra Cummings of Duncan, and Kandace Thompson and husband Dalton of Tulsa, OK; nephews: Chris Parrish of Lawton, OK, Casey Merritt and wife Heather of Moore, OK; and 15 great nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her mom, Glenda Kay Ruth; sisters: Nancy Ruth and Mary Russell; and brother, Michael Arthur.
The family wishes to offer special thanks to Wilkins Nursing Home, Chisholm Trail Hospice, Whitt Funeral Home, and Connection Church Duncan.
