Helen Patricia (Roudie) Lepore
May 2nd, 2025 was the day Helen slipped into the ether with the hope of eternally joining her departed husband and children.
Born March 17, 1927, to Michael James and Helen (Sirullo) Roudie in Bristol, Connecticut, in the home of her grandmother. Growing up in Bristol, she attended Clarence A. Bingham School and Bristol High School, Class of 1945, known as the War Class.
After graduating as Salutatorian from BHS, she attended Boston University, School of Practical Arts and Letters. The constraints of WWII would cause her to return home prior to completion of a degree, to help in running her Uncle Dom Spinellis grocery store. Later she would go on to work at the law office of Attorney Neil Murphy and A.F. Lepore, Jr. and Associates Engineering and Land Surveying.
Her marriage to Augustine F. Lepore, Jr. in June of 1949 and the prospect of a family led her to a different career path. As a mother of five, she would devote her time to caring for and raising her children. Helen and her husband were founding members of Saint Gregory the Great Church and Saint Paul Catholic High School, both located in Bristol. They were inducted into the Saint Paul Circle of Honor in 2007.
Helen was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, and her sons Paul, David, and Mark. She is survived by her eldest son, Michael J. Lepore; a daughter Rosemary Lepore and her husband, Gregory Szyszkowski; grandson Nicholas Szyszkowski and his wife Hayley.
She also leaves behind a sister, Rosanne Kiniry, as well as her dear nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (May 8, 2025) at 10 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Wednesday between 5 and 7 PM.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cooleys Anemia Foundation, 330 7th Avenue, Ste. 200, NY, NY 10001, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
